Knives Cut Smoke

Knives can cut the smoke clearly. The orange embers of the grey coal. Burnt air and dying light. The grill fueled the fire that burned the day away. Light filled the brighter days along with the empty days. Hazel hung around the house when the sun was out. Violet hung when the temperature dropped. Leather left traces around the wood as the evening settled.
